AN POST STAMPS
An Post and Poetry Ireland are releasing a new collection of stamps as part of the Irish Poetry Symposium 2022 to celebrate Irish Poets, including Eavan Boland, William Butler Yeats and Seamus Heaney.
I created three stamps for these three poets to honour their work. I chose three poems: The Wild Spray by Eavan Boland, The Rose Tree by William B. Yeats and Blackberry - Picking by Seamus Heaney. They all have themes of nature and flowers in common.
I used a three-colour swatch for each stamp and colours that reflect the poems and a font colour that mirrors the fruits and flowers. All poets are depicted in the same blue colour to make it uniform. For the plants, I used negative space and a mix of three different colours for each stamp. I used different colour backgrounds to differentiate them.
