LETTERKENNY Wayfinding

LETTERKENNY is an ever-expanding town. It has a constantly growing retail environment, increasing numbers of housing developments, places of historical significance, well known landmarks, and an increasing amount of social, cultural and recreational spaces.

I created this Wayfinding system to help people process information more quickly and to ensure visibility of signage by being unique and attractive. I wanted to create awareness of what the town has to offer.

I used the shape of the Polestar Roundabout structure and incorporated it in my wayfinding system, making it consistent using similar graphic lines with icons and signs. To highlight Letterkenny landmarks, I added graphics to signage and gave them different colours based on categories. I used sea foam green mixed with a charcoal grey for the logo, street names signage, and building interiors. I used different colours to identify different landmarks and places.
