Bubble website was created to bring seniors together, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they were forced to remain apart from family and friends. The goal of Bubble is to help seniors stay active and engaged with others, thereby helping to promote their wellbeing. Extensive research of the situation of seniors during this pandemic found that depression and the symptoms of dementia worsened for seniors who were isolated and lonely, lacking contact with friends and family.
